Ollies Point surfing - On the nautical charts, Ollies Point is actually called "Potrero Grande". It is a long narrow bay aligned directly southwest. It has some awesome waves when a south west swell rolls in from the pacific. Ollies is a 3 to 5 hour sail from Flamingo and a 1 - 2 hour sail from Roca Bruja.

We anchor Shannon on the protected side of the bay, you take the 12 foot dinghy across to the surfing side of the bay (10 minute ride). You surf early or late then come back to Shannon for some great food or relaxing. Shannon is your full service hotel with Olies point surfing in your back yard.

In between surfing, we can get in some fishing and/or snorkeling. We find everything from whales to sailfish!

Witches Rock

Witches Rock - (Roca Bruja) is about 500 meters off one of the best remote beach breaks in Costa Rica and is a 4 hour sail from Flamingo. Normally however we first go to Olies Point and then come back to Wiches Rock. Witches is a 1.5 to 2 hour sail from Olies Point.

For those of you that are interested in the status of the Marina Flamingo, select the Marina Flamingo News . Here, we have assembled a collection of links to various "on-line newspaper" archives that have documented the dreadful history - as they saw it. I have also thrown in a few of my opinions (possible biased). |
